Small House, Art, and a Tamale Breakfast

An interesting sign in front of a church in Santa Fe!

A quick ride from Taos to Santa Fe, but a much smaller place than the remarkable one we just left.

Mrs. T can finally touch the ceiling!

I must say, you are bombarded by art as you walk through the downtown. It is everywhere! From the many galleries to the art just for arts sake in the streets.

Spent a pleasant afternoon at the Georgia O’Keefe Museum. While I have always known of her, I never knew her back story and journey through a lifetime of creating.

And then there are the stores. Oh my… take a look at these shoes!

Now I am no stranger to high priced fashion, but these little babies started at $1900. Saw an attractive leather jacket that caught my eye, $6,000! Needless to say, we sulked out like characters from a Dickens novel.

A quick note about the rhythm of this blog. I am giving you the high points and leaving out the many days spent dashing from one hotel to another for a quick night and then back on the road. I will, however, give you some “color” at our next one night stop. A landmark in Amarillo…

As for now, we pack up after a three day stay here in Santa Fe, culminating in a fabulous dinner at the Coyote Cafe. Mussel pozole, street corn, pork belly taco (my love of which will eventually take my life!), and Caesar salad rolls wrapped in sweet soy paper. Tomorrow off to Amarillo after breakfast in a place we passed on our walks that has tamale on the breakfast menu, cannot wait!
